Biography ::
Swathi Reddy is a South Indian film actress and television presenter, who mainly appears in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam movies. She has gained fame through the Tv show, "Colours" on Maa channel. She made her acting debut with 2005 movie Danger. Later on she has done some supporting roles and made her leading debut with Tamil film Subramaniyapuram (2008). Her role in the Telugu film Ashta Chamma has gained her Filmfare Award and Nandi Award for Best Actress. Swathi was last seen in the Telugu movie Tripura.
Swathi was born on 19 April 1987 in Vladivostok, Russia. Her birth name was Svetlana but later changed to Swathi. Her family moved to Mumbai and then to the Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam, where she spent most of her childhood. While studying in 11th class, she moved to Hyderabad. She enrolled herself at St. Marys College in Yousufguda, Hyderabad and graduated in Biotechnology. Soon she has ventured into television at the age 17 as a host. After completing the first year of her graduation, she made her debut in feature films.
Family ::
Swathi's father was an officer in the Indian Navy, who was trained as a submariner in the Soviet Union. She has one elder brother named Siddharth.
Career::
Colours Swathi has started her television career by hosting popular show "Colors". She has been occasionally working as a voice actor and playback singer as well. In 2008, she has dubbed for actress Ileana D'Cruz in the film Jalsa. In 2010, she gave her voice to an HIV/AIDS education animated software tutorial created by the nonprofit organization TeachAIDS. In 2011, actress Swathi turned playback singer, for the songs, from films like Katha, Screenplay Darshakatvam Appalaraju and 100% Love. In her acting career span of 10 years, Swathi has starred in nearly 20 movies in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. She was last seen in the Telugu film "Karthikeya". Currently she has three upcoming Tamil films in her kitty.
